Smart Thermostat with Alexa - White

I'm sure it's fairly common practice but when I purchase something on I always look at the 1-star reviews first. Despite some of the issues I read about regarding this thermostat I thought I'd give it a try. It works perfectly and the installation couldn't have been more simple and straightforward using the sensi app. After reading some of the reviews from people who had issues with this thermostat I came to the conclusion that the unit relies heavily on a good power supply since there's no c wire. That said I'm using Energizer ultimate lithium ion batteries. Also I'm sure they will need to be changed frequently but it's a small price to pay for this relatively inexpensive unit that seems to function perfectly at least for me. I have a HughesNet Wi-Fi router and Google pixel 2 Android phone on Verizon's Network and I'm having no issues whatsoever. I'm thrilled because our furnace does not have a c wire and I've been shopping for a Wi-Fi thermostat for a couple years now. This was the first one to come along that seemed like a viable option. I'm sure it doesn't work perfectly for everyone but it did for me!

I tried two other brands. The first was faulty, I do not know if it was the unit or the software. I returned it. Went with another brand that had Alexa built in. Unfortunately, the other Alexa devices in the home would only recognize the thermostat on an intermittent basis. It was returned.I was ready to go with an old school thermostat, but decided to give Sensi a try. So far, so good. It has been a few weeks and Sensi has worked flawlessly. This unit can be powered by a C wire, or batteries. So if your home does not have a C wire, it will still work.It has been very nice to have the thermostat controlled by Alexa. Especially in the middle of the night and you don’t want to get out of bed.Should something go awry, I will update this review. However, based on the few weeks it has been installed and the need to return two other brands, I highly recommend Sensi.

Ww love this smart thermostat that DOES NOT REQUIRE THE C-WIRE. We wanted to update at minimum to a programmable thermostat but thought a Smart one would be even better as we have Alexa and would add value to our home come time to sell. This one has the right price point and does what the more expensive thermostats do (unless someone can correct me? maybe I don't know?).EASY TO SET UP- please do not pay for installation - that would be ridiculous. There is a step by step installation guide in the app once you download it - it's SO easy.We've only had it a few days but no problems; Alexa adjusts it on command, the app adjusts it, I can use the buttons on the unit itself to adjust. My only complaint thus far (and perhaps I just haven't figured it out) is it seems you can only set the schedule through the app.

I just installed a second Sensi after being thrilled with how well the first Sensi worked. If there was a Noble prize for thermostats, the the inventor at Emerson should get the award. I am the caregiver for my 88 year old mom in Vermont who lives alone - 10 hours away from me, and I need to find every way I can to manage her home remotely.Given the brutal winters in Vermont, I needed a way to make sure my Mom stayed warm both day and night - whether in the living room or her bedroom - while also keeping an eye on the fuel oil and propane usage. I have one Sensi attached to the gas fireplace in living room and one Sensi in her bedroom attached to the main furnace boiler.With the Sensi thermostats, I can now make sure the gas fireplace turned on automatically in the morning to maintain 72 and then turned down at 10:00 in the evening. At the same time, the Sensi in her bedroom will lower the temperature in the morning after she leaves the bedroom and automatically raise the the temperature in the evening before she goes to bed. All this capability is provided by the scheduling feature of the Sensi. Brilliant!At any time my Mom could override the programming to adjust the temperatures locally - but I will have visibility to those changes remotely.Thank you to the team at Emerson for creating such a functional and easy to use product. Almost forgot to mention the reporting feature of the Sensi app that provides usage statistics - incredible!

Emerson Sensi Wi-Fi Thermostat works grate. Easy installation, just follow the instructions after downloading the app. I went with this thermostat since I only hade 4 wires and did not feel like pulling the fifth wire. Works from my phone or tablet flawlessly. My brother and his son have this same Sensi wi-fi thermostat and have never hade any problems with it no mater where they were in the country. I have never hade any problem with it neither since installation. Scheduling you days and times are also very easy to do. This thermostat is all you need. Did not need to pay high dollars for a smart thermostat to learn my habits. Schedule is set and if needs changing can do from where ever I am at the time. Highly recommend this Thermostat.
