White Noise Machine - 20 Sounds

So like many people I need white noise to sleep. A fan is not always a feasible option, so when I saw this as a daily deal I thought "why not?" I'm so glad I did because it's AMAZING!! There are so many sound options and it can get LOUD, if you want it to. I will say that, in reference to some other reviews, as you go through the sounds it can make a weird noise. Just wait, literally 1 second. Also, anyone that's ever had a baby can appreciate how precious nap time can be. Jack this bad boy up and throw the party of the century if you want. No worries about disturbing the littles. It's portable and comes with the option to plug into any USB port or with the AC plug provided. I took it on a girls trip recently and everyone there was fawning all over it. No noises of people stomping around and slamming doors all night at the hotel, even drowned out my friend's snoring. BUT, what tops it all off for me is the manufacturer. I recently moved my plug location to the plug behind my bed. I later noticed my mattress was too far from the wall. I promptly shoved the mattress towards the wall breaking the USB part right off the cord. I really didn't want to spend $50 to replace it, but was about to bc I can't sleep without it anymore, instead I called the company to tell them my issue. She took my info down. I received a return call the next day. He sent me a new machine for free! The new one has a removable, and replaceable, cord, so if I break it again I can just find a new cord. I'm taking extra care to ensure that doesn't happen again! I really can't say how much I love my 'lectrofan!!

An excellent product, buy one now.If you are someone who likes white noise while you sleep, this is the device for you. It is small, portable, well-made, has a wide range of volumes, and fairly easy to operate. This device fits in your hand and can easily be packed for trips. It remembers whatever setting it was last on, so you don't have to readjust it every time you unplug it and plug it back in. The construction seems solid and put together with the intention to last; this is not a cheap feeling product. The sound output can go from quite quiet to almost too loud, so virtually everyone should be able to find the setting that is right for them. Initial setup is a bit of a hassle, what with going through every one of the noises, but once you find the one you like, you can just stick with it forever.There is a 60 minute option on the device, which shuts it off after an hour, but I only ever use the continuous sound with the simple on/off button. The 60 minute option does work, however, as I've tested it just to see. What I really like about the continuous sound from this device is that it never loops or has any pauses while it restarts--it's just uninterrupted white noise going endlessly. It really is great.While you might think 50 bucks is a lot for something that just makes a repetitive noise, you sleep every single day. I've had this for several years now and it is still going strong, so that means I'm paying only a penny or three a day to help ensure a good night's sleep. I'd call that a solid investment. Do yourself a favor and buy this product. Your well-rested morning self will appreciate it.

I have had insomnia for 30 years now and this is the only sound machine that works for me. I have tried many others that loop and you can hear it as it loops and i just can't sleep with those. All i keep hearing is the stupid loop noise and it starting over so they are very distracting for me. My mind tends to never stop so it's always trying to focus on something which then keeps me awake.With this sound machine, i sleep like a baby. I love the fact that I can switch it up between the fan side and the white noise side. I accidentally hit the timer sometimes and wake up with no noise and have to hit the button to turn it on again but that is my fault for hitting the wrong button when turning it on. One of these days i will get it down.My husband loved my sound machine so much that he requested one for himself for when he goes out of town.Hands down the absolute best sound machine you will ever find!

Updated Review:A week or so ago I posted a negative review of the LectroFan (below). I was disappointed that such a great product had a poorly designed cord that had forced be to buy two of these in just a few years time. I was extremely impressed to receive a reply with 24 hours from AST customer service asking for my information and a description of the issue I ran into. They assured me they stood by their products and clearly they do. I received a brand new unit in the mail less than 5 days later!!! I am seriously impressed. I can't remember the last time a company stood behind their product like that.Better yet...THEY FIXED THE CORD DESIGN!!! I am so happy. It was really my only complaint. The new design sports a removable cord that is much more securely anchored at the end that connects to the fan. The USB plug now is L shaped as it comes out of the wall which takes additional pressure off the end that goes into the wall. Both of these are great changes. Worst case scenario if something happens is a cheap cord replacement.Bravo AST :D You deserve the 5 stars.Previous Review:I've owned two of these now and they sound great as everyone else has pointed out. So what's the issue? Both of mine died within a year and a half of regular and easy use...both with the same issue. The USB power cord that connects to the base at some point stopped working. You can jiggle it around towards the end of its life to buy you another week or so, but at some point it just stops. Please keep in mind, that this just sits on a table next to our son's crib. The only "action" it sees is getting plugged in each night.If the USB cord wasn't permanently fixed to the bottom side of the unit, then I would just toss the cord and buy another. Unfortunately since it is permanently fixed, the only choice is to toss the unit. At $50 a pop, I'm not cool with that. That's just bad design on an otherwise great machine. Looks like I'm going to have to sadly move on to some other sound machine.

When we brought our baby home from the hospital, I helped him get to sleep by saying “shhhhh” near his bassinet.
