I’m pretty obsessed with the Sensi app!!

Love this thermostat!!! We love that the fan can run independent of the furnace. We have a gas fireplace in our living room and the heat is circulated by that setting. I can’t wait to see what impact getting this thermostat will have on our monthly heating/cooling bills. Try not to use the optional plate that Emerson makes to go behind this if it’s needed - it looks really cheap. You’d be better off to touch up the paint than spend the $10 for that thing. This was easy to install and I love the app!!**update**When the weather warmed up a few days ago and we changed the status to auto - setting a warm to and cool to temperature on the thermostat - we noticed we were having an issue with our compressor running at different times than the fan. It was confusing because we hadn’t had any issues with the heat. I contacted Tech Support and they were able to solve the issue. Even though we went through the setup wizard when we installed the thermostats (we’ve since bought a second one!) the settings were wrong!! Very wrong! This was the sequence we used to change the settings and get our issue solved:Go to the physical thermostat.Press “Menu.”Press "Advanced Set Up."Press “Set Up HVAC Equipment.”Press “Change settings.”If you have a heat pump, choose “HP1.” If you have an air conditioning unit, choose "AC1.” If you have more than one stage cooling, change this to “HP2” or “AC2” to represent this.If you have a wire in Y, but not Y2, you have single stage.If you have a wire in Y and Y2, you have more than one stage of cooling.If you have a gas furnace, oil burner, or boiler system, choose "GA1" which represents a single stage gas/boiler heating system. If you have an electric furnace, this should be set to "EL1." If you have more than one stage, change this to "GA2" or "EL2” to represent this.If you have a wire in W/E, but not W2, you have single stage.If you have a wire in W/E and W2, you have more than one stage of heating.Once you've selected the choice that best describes your equipment, press “Save” to leave the menu.This was the fix we needed!! Now the house is cool and everything is once again, running like a charm!! Thanks Emerson Tech Support!!!

The instructions were easy to understand

I purchased two units, as we have an upstairs and downstairs thermostats. I was replacing old thermostats that were next to impossible to program. These old thermostats had batteries, so when I installed the new Sensi WiFi Thermostats, I had to connect a "C" Wire, aka common wire. This wire gives you ongoing electricity. The instructions were easy to understand, and finding the C terminal on our heater was also easy to find and connect. I did receive one defective unit. I called Sensi Support. They walked me through resetting the unit, and determining it was defective, and instructed me to go back to to do the replacement, which was very easy. Everything works and looks great. Yes, looks are SUPER important. This unit is much better looking than the other Wifi Thermostats..

You are missing out!

I found the wiring instructions to be less than clear, but they were clear enough for me to ensure that I could wire it myself. I did require a C wire, but I had an unused blue wire so all I had to do was use it. If your less than confident, then you might want help.The app works rather well. The Alexa integration is a snap.My favorite feature is the delay between cycles. I would lie awake at night getting furious that the furnace would run and turn off, only to turn right back on again. The delay can be set to slow, medium, or fast. Using slow has made me more restful. Yes, new windows are in the near future. I did have a thought of “I wished it could do this” while setting up the schedule, but it was a minor point.You should also know that the display is a grey/black when not running. When heating or cooling is running though it does display either orange or blue (for heating or cooling). It is not always a color display.Last, it is fully programmable. Just adjust the schedule to your liking and your set. I know there are other WiFi thermostats out there, but I’m thinking that this really is one of the best ones.

Very Impressed!

Really love our new progammable, touch-screen, digital thermostat from Emerson. The Sensi is very simple in operation and very elegant in design. It tells me immediately at a glance what mode it's in (cooling, heating, or auto), and the screen color shows when it is activated to heat/cool/stand-by with reddish, blue, and gray. We love that we can place it in auto mode during this time of seasonal transition to set thresholds of low and high temp to come on for heating or cooling automatically. It gives the inside humidity, time of day, setting, and actual temp all on one screen without having to go through the menus. We just started using it and haven't set up any schedules or geo-fencing, but will be trying those features soon. The only issue I had, was since my last older digital thermostat did not have the c-wire hooked up, I had to find an unused wire in the bundle of wires coming out of the wall and also open up the control board panel on my furnace to hook up the same color wire there too. Once I did that, it worked perfectly. Highly recommend!

Works with oil fired furnace w/central air

When I first installed this, I noted that the blower and he furnace started at the same time, which my old thermostat did not. It worked in stages. I contacted Sensei tech support and they gave me the correct programming to make it work so the furnace fires to heat the plenum, then when it reaches right temp, the blower starts so it is not blowing all the cold air directly in to the house from the ducts.
