I have about 10 of these in use around the house. Several are used exclusively at Christmas to control trees and other lights.They are pretty easy to set up in the app and you can create groups to control multiple plugs as one switch/control. Alexa integration is simple also. Once you enable the skill and link your accounts, Alexa imports your switch names and groups. And if you decide to change a name, it will update in Alexa as well.I also have several Kasa smart switches and a few light strips. They are all easy to srt up and use and also integrate with 3rd party smart control like Samsung Smartthings.I've been adding Kasa smart plugs and switches over the last several years and all of them have worked flawlessly. Another added benefit is you can control them without internet access, which is a nice failsafe that is a shortcoming of Samsung Smartthings. As long as your phone is attached to the same wifi as the plugs you have control.

I love these smart plugs. I used them so that all of the Xmas lights throughout the house go on and off at the same time. The setup is very easy - it does take a few minutes though to complete the steps using the phone app and also waiting for the firmware update. Setting the on/off schedule was also very easy on the Kasa app. I like that you can set the timer to on (or off) at your local time sunset/sunrise. You can also see the time of day lights will go on; and when they're on you can see easily what time they will go off. It's also easy to edit the on/off settings. Or you can use the app to turn on/off your appliance anytime you like; or use the on/off button on the smart plug. This is a great value too over other smart plugs and you get 4 of them in this set. Highly recommend.

I am impressed with tp-link. I started off buying several of their TP Link Nanos for travel and projects, then graduated to the smart plugs to use initially with my Wink. When Wink proved themselves untrustworthy and dishonest in their advertising, I crossed over to Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi. Integration with home assistant is Flawless and super easy to set up as well. Two lines of code easily found with a Google search was all it took. I like TP link so much, switched my system over to one of their mesh Networks, too. I still prefer zigbee and Z-Wave devices for home automation and most of my things are on these as I prefer as much to be local-only as possible, I still do have uses for these. Recently I even brought their multi colored Wi-Fi light for our chicken coop and a local home assistant setup there on Raspberry zero. So far I have purchased six of these Outlet switches. No regrets at all with this purchase. They also seem to have very good range even when I was not using my mesh Network. They are heavy duty enough I even used one with a large Michael thermic heater during the winter take it up the bathroom first thing in the morning before we wake up.

I'm a Wemo smartplug refugee and bought Kasa Smart Plugs as an alternative due to the reco of others about a month ago. The Wemo plugs were difficult at best to setup and became near impossible after an app design change ... the Kasa Plugs on the other hand were VERY easy to setup. The Kasa android app is easy to use and provides all the expected functionality. Finally, Alexa integration was straight forward.

I had the old Home Automation boxes from the 90s. They could not be plugged into any power strip with a surge protector. They were still working but I needed a PC to update anything. And the DST / Standard time was the one before Prez Bush changed the dates, so that was a problem. I would change to DST and a few weeks later had to do it again as it was in the computer program. Plus you can't get the computer program anymore and my 2004 laptop was getting quite old. My son had these newer switches. So easy to manually turn on. I got four... maybe 20 min. ALL DONE !Problem. I had one set of light programmed to go ON at 4:30 PM for winter and off at 12:50.. for days they stayed on all night until I figured out.. off at 12:50 AM not PM. The tiny time scrolls are not for fat fingers either.
